NewsSheffield

@NewsSheffield has served the city of Sheffield on Twitter with up-to-minute news reports since September 2011.

Combining original independent reporting with aggregated news from other sources, we have been first to cover a number of important stories affecting people in the region, including the Streets Ahead tree felling scandal, the now-abandoned Central Library hotel plan, and the selling of public land at Graves Park.

During the 2020-21 Coronavirus pandemic we have committed to boosting messages for civic aid or assistance, such as in charity appeals and information on domestic abuse and crisis lines.

Analytics data from 2019 showed that @NewsSheffield has an average monthly user reach of 38,000, and over 1,200 followers.

Reports and features can be found on the NewsSheffield archive.
